PRIVACY POLICY OVERVIEW

Wize Books are strongly committed to protecting the privacy of its website users and customers. We have written this privacy policy to outline the specific information we collect, how we use this information, and what options you have in sharing this information with us when you visit our site. Protecting your privacy is a significant part of our commitment to providing you with a high-quality shopping experience.

 

SECTION 1 - WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products, and other updates.

For a user who places an order, we request personal information on the order form used in the shopping cart. Contact (name, address, email, etc.) and delivery information. No Credit Card information is stored by us (credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill the customer's order. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact the customer.

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

 

SECTION 4 - SECURITY

We store the personal information of our Customers and Visitors on our secure servers in South Africa behind a secured firewall.

We use computer safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption, we enforce physical access controls to our servers and files, and we authorize access to personal information only for those employees who require it to fulfill their job responsibilities.

When users submit sensitive information via the website, their information is protected both online and offline. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or contact information), that information is encrypted and is protected with 256-bit encryption software over an SSL connection. While on a secure page, such as our shopping cart checkout forms, the lock icon on the URL where the address is indicated also displays a locked icon being indicative of our security certificate.

You should not divulge your Account password to anyone. We will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited telephone call or e-mail. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING THE SECRECY OF YOUR UNIQUE PASSWORD AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION AT ALL TIMES.

 

Payment

No payment or credit card details are stored on Wize Books servers - all payments go through a third-party payment gateway. Credit card transactions are processed using our own Internet merchant account and authorized via a third-party payment gateway system. The payment gateway is an authority in trusted modular payment solutions and security systems on the Internet.

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

 

SECTION 5 - THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

 

SECTION 6 - COOKIES

We will store a persistent cookie so that you may retrieve the products in your shopping cart with no need to go through re-choosing all of them again. However, the cookie will eventually expire if there is no activity in your cart, e.g. view, add to, etc., for a number of days. This website's cookies do not contain any personally identifiable information. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site, but the user will experience limited functionality in some areas of our site. For example, the user will not be able to process an order through our shopping checkout area.
